AI sensors (J version) - Technical manual

Presentation

The IA sensor (version J) is a device for counting people, vehicles and certain animals.

Placed at a height, it captures and analyses the shapes in its "field of vision", locating those that can be assimilated to human beings, vehicles or animals in order to track them, and counts all those that cross a predefined counting line. It transmits updated count data every minute via the 3G/4G network.

The power supply for the vision device is integrated into the sensor.

Prerequisites

Location

  1. Connection to 3G/4G network possible
  2. The area to be analysed must be sufficiently bright (> 50 lux)
  3. The measurement zone must be entirely within the meter's field of vision (maximum distance of 50m).
  4. Mounting location available at a minimum height of 3.5m (fixings available: pole hoops or wall mount)
  5. The view in front of the camera must be unobstructed. Check that there is no equipment or installations that could impede visibility during counting (see diagram below).

Data to be specified by the customer

  1. How the box is fixed :
    1. Wall mounting (standard)
    2. Post strapping
  2. Camera mounting :
    1. Wall mounting (standard)
    2. Plate with hoops for post
  3. 220V connection :
    1. Cable length :
      1. 80cm (standard) or custom length
    2. Connection method :
      1. 2P+T male plug (Standard)
      2. Bare cable
  4. Length of the RJ45 network cable between the counting box and the camera :
    1. 1m (standard) or custom length

Installation

On-site installation

  1. Fixing the sensor box and the vision device
  2. Wiring the RJ45 cable or core between the box and the vision device
  3. Connection to the electricity network
  4. Setting the angle
  5. Check data recovery and correct it if necessary
Status LED :
A status LED is visible on the underside of the case.
When the sensor starts up, the LED will light up steadily, then flash until the meter is connected to the 4G network.
If the meter loses its connection, the LED will start flashing again to indicate a malfunction.

Post-installation follow-up (1 week)

  1. (Remote) hardware calibration, model validation and data consistency checks
  2. Sensor commissioning

Technical Architecture

Compliance with the CNIL and the RGPD

The IA sensor (version J) implemented by Affluences comply with CNIL and RGPD regulations.
The logic analysis and metering unit is built directly into the meter, and the data streams captured are processed locally on the fly.
The only data stored and sent to the Affluences servers and databases is numerical count data (e.g. 15-minute wait at 11.05am)
