Installation for 3D Video Sensor

Installation for 3D Video Sensor

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for the installation and the connection of the 3D Video Sensor are the following :

  • The validation by Affluences’ technical team of the sensor’s chosen installation spot

  • A fixation point that is available at a height between 2.20 meters to 20 meters at the top of the passage to measure, for the drilling of fixation holes

  • A way to access the fixation points (ladder, lift)

  • A network cable,  RJ45 powered by PoE, that is nearby

  • Internet access for ports 80/HTTP, 123/NTP, 443/HTTPS at minimum

  • An DHCP server (definitive or temporary, to leave some time to configure the sensor with a fixed IP address)

Installation Choices

2 Types of installation are possible, in function of the configuration of the fixation points : overhanging or by a support

Overhanging

In case of a false ceiling, plaster, or slab.

With a fixation support

In case of a solid ceiling, or a fixation on a wall with a curved support.

Overhanging Installation

Generally, the sensor is placed at the center of the passage, far away from anything that could interfere or obstruct its view on the targeted zone.

1. Passing the cables

Pass the cables through the false ceiling from a router, switch,  or other network access point through the fixation point                    intended for the sensor.

2. Ethernet drilling

Drill a hole of 22mm in the false ceiling for the hollowing of the Ethernet socket and take out the RJ45 cable, as detailed in the drilling picture below.

3. Connection and Turning On

Connect the RJ45 cable on the sensor, and verify that the LED flickers, signifying that the PoE supply is fully operational.
If the sensor does not  turn on, verify that the PoE switch or the PoE injector is turned on and operational.

4. Drilling for fixation

Drill two fixation holes (M4) and insert the adapted wall plugs.

Screw the overhanging sensor in and verify that it is correctly attached.

5. Informing Affluences

Once the installation is finished, take a photo and send it to support@affluences.com for

validation.

Affluences’ technical team will take the time to verify that the sensor was mounted properly
and conduct the calibration at distance. The team on site may also assist to analyze the space
under the sensor to validate that the sensor is working properly.

Installation on a support

Generally, the sensor is placed at the center of the passage, far away from anything that could

interfere or obstruct its view on the targeted zone.

1. Passing the cables

Pass the cables through using the assistance of a cable cover and/or electric skirting starting from a router, a switch or any other network access to the fixation spot intended for the sensor.

2. Support Assembly

Drill the four fixation points of the support according to the drilling plan outlined below.
Insert the adapted wall plugs and screw the fixation support.

3. Connection and Turning On

Connect the RJ45 cable to the sensor and verify that the LED light is flickering, signifying that the PoE supply is fully operational.
If the sensor does not turn on, verify that the PoE switch or the PoE injector is turned on and operational.

4. Screw onto the support

Screw the sensor’s ball joint onto the support using the aid of a screw hinge to keep the sensor parallel to the counting surface.

5. Informing Affluences

Once the installation is finished, take a photo (the view of the sensor in the zone, from the ground to the ceiling) and send it to the Account Manager responsible for the project or to the Support team at support@affluences.com for validation.

Affluences’ technical team will take the time to verify that the sensor was mounted properly and conduct the calibration at distance. The team on site may also assist to analyze the space under the sensor to validate that it  is working properly.
